About the directors

Liz Nguyen is a wife and homeschooling mother of four, born and raised in the D.C. area, but a converted Floridian since 2007. She graduated from Johnson University with a Masters in Holistic Education, and spent seven years teaching middle school before starting a family. Her husband is a local pastor and basketball coach, and she serves alongside him in the children’s ministry. All credentials aside, she’s a self-proclaimed nerd- often reading, asking questions, laughing at her own jokes, and brainstorming. She’s passionate about raising Christ-following, critically thinking, curious kids, and can’t wait to learn and grow alongside yours.

Elena is a wife, the mother of two children, and a retired nurse.  After years of patient care in the hospital setting, she retired from nursing to focus on family and homeschooling.  She's constantly reading, researching, learning and critically thinking to find better answers and solutions.  Elena’s teaching style emphasizes the importance of asking questions, while instilling a deep love for learning and the confidence to share ideas.  Her husband is a local firefighter, and she is part of a big Italian family with 2 brothers and 4 sisters. Overall, she is the quintessential Pinterest-perfect homeschool mom (kidding, that is not true at all), though she does enjoy sarcastic jokes, and hot coffee in pretty mugs. The truth is, she believes that homeschooling is God’s calling, and is excited to see what He has in store for the future of Down to Earth Co-op families who have chosen to answer it. 

Kelsey is a homeschool mom of two children, the wife of a firefighter, and a South Florida native. She has a strong love for teaching, beginning at a young age. In her teen and college years, she was blessed to work in children’s ministry at her childhood school and church for almost 10 years. After studying Elementary Education at the University of North Florida, she spent her time nannying and directing extra-curricular and educational children’s programs. She believes learning should be FUN and that is reflected throughout her teaching style and everyday life. You can always find her singing, dancing, and finding ways to turn everything into a celebration (after coffee, of course). Kelsey is excited to enrich the homeschool journey for children and their families alongside her own; and is thrilled to be a part of what Down To Earth Co-op represents. Let the adventure begin!
