SO THEN, JUST AS YOU RECEIVED CHRIST JESUS AS LORD, CONTINUE TO LIVE YOUR LIVES IN HIM, ROOTED AND BUILT UP IN HIM, STRENGTHENED IN THE FAITH AS YOU WERE TAUGHT, AND OVERFLOWING WITH THANKFULNESS. Colossians 2:6-7

MISSION

To provide meaningful, hands-on learning experiences that encourage elementary and middle school children to think critically, explore thoughtfully, and discover God in connection to the world around them. By staying grounded in Truth, striving for sensibility and simplicity, fostering curiosity, and learning from mistakes, we bring our children up in Christ while living Down to Earth.

VISION

We envision a thriving, Christ-centered community that shapes generations of children formed in faith, wisdom, and curiosity, growing into a connected network of believers making a lasting impact in the world. It is our prayer that these children grow into adults who love learning, live faithfully, think wisely, and steward the world God has entrusted to them—while raising the next generation to do the same.

FAITH STATEMENT

We believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God. We believe that Jesus Christ is the way, the truth, and the life and no one comes to the Father except through Him. All members must agree with our faith statement and acknowledge that Down to Earth Co-op is a Christian program which weaves Biblical Truth into each subject.

ABOUT OUR PROGRAM

We are a non-denominational Christian home education instructional program and co-op.

We understand the unique challenges of homeschooling; and we provide a supportive, supplemental enrichment program and co-op community that works to alleviate some of those challenges.

DURATION

Program hours are 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Monday.

Our drop off homeschool education instructional enrichment program runs for 8 months (28 Mondays) each year.

INVOLVEMENT

Our program is built on community. In addition to the Monday program, moms meet every Friday for park days and field trips, including throughout the summer when the Monday program is on break. Monthly participation in Friday gatherings is required year-round to maintain membership. As with any community, families tend to get out of it what they put into it, and meaningful participation helps strengthen relationships, consistency, and trust within our group.

Because community involvement is central to who we are, participation is weighed heavily each year when considering applications and continued membership. Additionally, a continued lack of engagement may result in termination of membership without refund. If you have any questions or concerns regarding this policy, please do not hesitate to email us.

Elena is a devoted wife, homeschool mom of two, and a retired registered nurse. After years of caring for patients in the hospital setting, she stepped away from nursing to focus on her family and homeschooling. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and, although she no longer practices clinically, her love for science remains strong. She is constantly reading, researching, learning, and thinking critically in her pursuit of better answers and meaningful solutions.

Elena’s teaching style emphasizes curiosity, thoughtful questioning, and a deep love for learning—while helping children develop the confidence to express their ideas and think independently. Her husband is a local firefighter, and she is the oldest of seven children in a close-knit Italian family, with two brothers and four sisters. She believes that homeschooling is a  calling from God, and is excited to see what He has in store for the future of Down to Earth Co-op families who have chosen to answer it.

Kelsey is a homeschool mom of two, the proud wife of a firefighter, and a South Florida native with a lifelong passion for teaching and community. She began serving in children’s ministry at a young age and continued throughout her teen and college years, working at her childhood school and church for nearly ten years. After studying Elementary Education at the University of North Florida, Kelsey went on to nanny and direct a variety of educational and extra-curricular children’s programs.

She believes learning should be fun and engaging, and that joy is reflected in her teaching style and everyday life. You can often find her singing, dancing, and turning ordinary moments into celebrations. In addition to her work with children and families, Kelsey also serves as the family event planner at her church, where she loves creating meaningful, welcoming experiences for her community.

Kelsey is excited to enrich the homeschool journey for children and their families alongside her own, and is thrilled to be part of what Down To Earth Co-op represents.
